Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing units under RN direction. The role focuses on basic nursing tasks, patient comfort, and ADL assistance during night shifts.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, and either a current CENA certification or active enrollment in a health-science program with relevant coursework or clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Certified Nurse Aide (CENA) certification is required or enrolled in a health science program with clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide comfort.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, and elimination needs per RN guidance.
• Collect specimens and measure vital signs as directed by the RN.
• Document care accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Communicate observations to the RN and participate in unit tasks.
