Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks an adaptable Nurse Care Assistant to perform patient care procedures under supervision. You will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support nurses with a range of bedside tasks and testing.

Qualified candidates have BLS at hire, nursing student in good standing with basic clinical skills, and at least two years in a hospital or long-term care setting. 12-hour night shifts, full-time with 0.90 FTE are available.

Qualifications

• BLS required at time of hire.
• Nursing student who has completed a basic clinical skills lab preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years hospital or long term care experience within related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, collects and records information in the patient record. Collects and records vital signs, weights, and other patient data.
• Transports patients and documents action in patient record.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene and mobility.
• Inserts and removes gastric and urethral tubes and performs enemas and disimpactions.
• Operates patient monitoring systems and performs bedside testing (e.g., Oximetry, ECG, Glucometer, urinalysis).
• Removes IV lines and performs phlebotomy after training.
• Performs wound care and dressing changes and assists with sterile procedures.
• Applies oxygen delivery devices as ordered and assists with portable oxygen.
