Job summary

UNM Hospital in Albuquerque is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to assist in nursing procedures, provide wound care, and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients across age groups. You will stock patient care areas and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures, supporting the nursing staff and physicians in daily tasks.

The role requires a High School or GED, at least 6 months of related experience, CPR/BLS certification, and an EMT Basic license.

Qualifications

High School or GED equivalent required.
1/2 year (6 months) directly related experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Keres and related languages considered nonessential.
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days.
Emergency Medical Technician Basic License.

Responsibilities

PATIENT CARE - Assist nursing staff/physicians in treatment procedures; perform routine tasks.
RECORDS & SUPPORT - Maintain records, file documents, and assist with clerical duties.
EQUIPMENT - Support equipment maintenance and data collection.
FOLLOW POLICY - Adhere to departmental policies, safety and infection-control standards.
ASSIST - Help nurses manage observation unit patients.
