Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care, including assisting with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes. The PCA collaborates with the bedside RN to monitor vital signs, report changes, and ensure patient safety using standard safety equipment.

Applicants must hold current BLS certification and demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or attainment at the completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate care and patient safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain concentration amidst interruptions.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering.
• Encourage walking and assist with baths.
• Provide clean linens and gowns.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms.
