Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care. You will assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes while collaborating with the RN to monitor vital signs and report changes promptly.

The role requires compassion, a calm bedside manner, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Training and ongoing development opportunities are offered within our award-winning hospital system.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
• Requires up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Requires proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Requires ability to maintain concentration under interruptions and stress.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities including meals, walking, baths, and linens.
• Support bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes.
• Demonstrate compassionate bedside manner and patient safety.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
