Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the nursing team during night shifts. You will assist with direct patient care, vital signs, and ADLs to promote patient comfort under supervision.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, assisting with tests and phlebotomy as directed, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. HS diploma and BLS/First Aid within 30 days are required; prior patient care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN guidance to promote comfort.
• Assist with activities of daily living and bed-making.
• Transport patients and specimens per policy and assist with discharge.
• Perform glucose monitoring and routine tests per department policy.
• Perform routine phlebotomy services (excluding line draws).
• Record vital signs and weights; monitor intake/output as directed.
