Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team. This role supports nurses with routine patient care, data collection and documentation, and unit operations across multiple hospital teams.

The position offers both full-time (3 shifts per week, 12 hours) and part-time (2 shifts per week) schedules with night hours (6pm–6:30am), weekend/holiday rotation, and night differential opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA certification in state of practice is required.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience or hospital office experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, human relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility and help with nutritional intake as needed.
• Collect vital signs, input/output, and other data; document in medical records and assist in transporting specimens.
• Report abnormalities or changes in patient health status to a licensed professional and communicate status to caregivers.
• Perform procedures and use equipment as delegated under supervision (blood draws, Foley removal, EKGs) and support staff.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties and support department communication and problem resolution.
• Maintain patient records, supply levels and assist in ordering supplies; support charting and ED/OR turnover as needed.
