Job summary

McLaren Health Care seeks a Manager/Director of Patient Access to plan, direct, evaluate and organize the staff and functions of the Patient Access Department, ensuring efficient registration, admission, transfer and discharge processes.

This leadership role reviews work for customer satisfaction and billing accuracy, trains new staff, provides ongoing coaching, designs policies for admitting and registration, and coordinates schedules and payroll, all while upholding HIPAA and health system

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in business management, accounting or related field.
• Two years’ experience in Patient Access or a related department.
• One-year experience in a leadership role leading or assisting in all phases of effective supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily duties of employees engaged in registration, admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Review department work for customer satisfaction and billing accuracy; document performance measures.
• Provide training for new staff and ongoing coaching for existing staff.
• Train and collect copays and deductibles at patient access.
• Design, implement and monitor policies for admitting and registration functions.
• Create and monitor staff schedules and timesheets; enter payroll information.
