Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Registration Clerk to support patient intake during a 11:00pm–7:30am weekend schedule. You will register patients, process payments, verify insurance, and guide patients through forms and scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, and the ability to multitask while protecting privacy and ensuring accurate data entry. Training provided, with rotating holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to process and verify electronic demographic/financial data.
• Strong customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the process.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance and balances due; safeguards cash and receipts.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Obtains signatures on consent/financial forms and distributes documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs.
• Maintains a neat registration desk and secures confidential information.
• Initiates scheduling using multiple sources (phone, MyChart, messaging).
• Verifies patient insurance using real-time eligibility and applies guarantor info.
• Communicates financial clearance status to patients and coordinates with Financial Counseling.
