Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican Neighborhood Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for night shift PRN coverage. The role focuses on patient registration, insurance verification and coordinating with the revenue cycle team to maximize reimbursement.

You will protect patient data, ensure proper patient identification, and provide courteous service to patients and families while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and EMTALA requirements.

Formación

• Provide excellent customer service at all times by effectively meeting customer needs.
• Record messages and communicate to appropriate medical staff.
• Fluency in English for written and oral communication; bilingual (English/Spanish) in certain markets.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and all regulations applicable to Admissions and Medical Records.
• Serve as liaison between patient/family, payers, Patient Financial Services and health care team.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as required by plans.
• Maximize collection efficiency by pursuing payments at the time of service.
• Maintain accurate demographics and scan documents into the system.
• Assist with transferring patients between hospitals when needed.
• Receive and respond to medical record requests from patients, physicians and hospitals.
• Maintain cash drawer and logs for payments and admissions.
