Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Part-Time Patient Access Representative for the 3rd shift (11pm–7:30am) in the Emergency Department. You will register patients, verify identity, collect demographics and insurance data, and explain regulatory documents.

You will greet patients, handle co-pays, scheduling, and possibly discharge duties, with focus on accurate data entry and privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry.
• Associate or bachelor's degree may substitute two years of experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting records.
• Enter demographic and insurance data into the EHR accurately.
• Explain and obtain consent for regulatory documents; collect co-pays and balances.
• Greet patients, answer questions, and direct to service areas; may assist with scheduling and discharges.
