Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative for overnight full-time shifts (11pm-7am) with a rotating schedule. The role involves admitting, registering, verifying insurance, and scheduling while addressing patient inquiries and navigating wayfinding in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years in customer service or healthcare-related roles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and thoroughly collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data in computer system.
• Maintains knowledge and understanding of insurance verification and understanding of insurance plans.
• Answers telephone calls promptly and accurately, taking messages and directing calls professionally.
• Educates patients regarding financial obligations through POS and estimates.
• Schedules walk-in procedures and collaborates with central scheduling.
• Refer patients who need financial assistance to a Financial Advocate.
