Job summary

Cook Children’s in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I to support the hospital’s registration process on the third shift. You will facilitate patient registration, explain consent and financial documents, and help families access services without patient care responsibilities.

Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of healthcare experience; strong customer service, basic computer skills, and knowledge of insurance concepts are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of healthcare experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Understanding of the revenue cycle and financial resources for patients.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, patient rights and responsibilities, insurance types and billing concepts.
• Detail oriented with clear communication.
• Working knowledge of computer skills.
• Basic typing/keyboarding.
• Insurance experience preferred.
