Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a full-time Admissions Liaison for night shifts at multiple San Antonio area facilities. The role focuses on collecting accurate patient demographics, verifying insurance, and securing payments to maximize hospital reimbursement while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

You will interact with patients, families, payers, and clinical staff; ensure HIPAA compliance; manage registrations, sign forms, and process authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience; 2 years preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA compliance in Admissions settings and medical records handling.
• Provide excellent customer service by understanding customer needs and building relationships.
• Answer phones professionally and relay messages to appropriate staff.
• Obtain signatures on required forms and consents.
• Verify demographics for accounts to facilitate revenue cycle processing.
• Verify insurance benefits and correct payor/plan in the system.
• Obtain required insurance authorizations where applicable.
• Pursue collections at the time of service to optimize reimbursement.
• Scan and file registration and clinical documents in the system.
• Coordinate patient transfers to other hospitals when necessary.
