Job summary

Baptist Neighborhood Hospital in Schertz is seeking a Part-Time Registration Specialist to support patient intake and billing processes. You will obtain and verify demographic information, verify insurance benefits, collect out-of-pocket responsibilities, and help maximize hospital reimbursement while delivering excellent customer service.

Night shift hours are 7p-7a, with Wednesday and Sunday rotations, offering an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting.
• 2 years preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.
• Fluency in English for written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and regulations in Admissions.
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships.
• Answer calls professionally and route messages.
• Verify demographic information and enter into patient accounting system.
• Verify insurance benefits and authorizations as required.
• Maximize collections at point of service with professionalism.
• Maintain and scan patient records and logs.
• Assist with coordinating transfer of patients when needed.
