Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate; post-secondary training in medical/healthcare administration preferred.
• 0–2 years in a healthcare setting including patient registration or front desk/admissions required.
• Experience in a customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture and verify demographic and insurance information for patients.
• Schedule procedures and pre-register patients with accurate data.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations.
• Collect and record patient financial responsibility estimates.
• Maintain organized patient records and communicate with physician offices.
• Take patient co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of obligations.
• Assist patients regarding insurance requirements and questions.
• Ensure patient identification with armbands and proper signing procedures.
• Respond to phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
