Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Patient Access/Finance associate to perform Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, collect payments, and coordinate pre-authorizations. You will register patients, collect demographic data, and ensure accurate medical records.

The role requires strong customer service, HIPAA knowledge, and ability to work with EMR systems. Night shifts and full-time schedule support a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/privacy rules and CMS/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue ABNs as needed.
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Register patients for services with accuracy and minimal record duplication.
• Collect demographic and insurance information from patients.
• Provide coverage for assigned work areas during shifts; arrange relief as needed.
• Communicate between clinical, ancillary and access departments to enhance patient experience.
• Document patient and payer conversations and payment arrangements.
• Attend department meetings and promote positive team dialogue.
• Provide PBX coverage when needed; answer and transfer calls.
• Perform cashiering duties including collections and cash reconciliation.
