Job summary

Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Production Specialist for West Chicago, IL. This third-shift role runs 10:00 pm–6:00 am, Monday through Friday, focusing on production flow, safety and quality in a fast-paced plant.

Responsibilities include packaging, inspection, housekeeping and equipment operation in a GMP environment, with emphasis on teamwork and reliable attendance. Previous manufacturing experience is a plus and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
• Regular, predictable attendance.
• Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
• Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping of the production area, packing, case making, inspecting, and other general factory tasks as per procedures and guidelines.
• Follow safety, health, quality GMP and company policies.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.
• Inspect finished product for defects and ensure proper sealing of cases.
• Pack bottles according to customer specification.
• Operate and restart downstream equipment as required.
• Assist with rework and heldware as needed.
• Train permanent and temporary workforce in stacking, packing quality, and case machines.
