Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and administrative decision making for care and coordination during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Coordinates activity between patient care units and hospital departments; mitigates adverse impacts.
• Manages allocation of human resources and assigns staff to meet acuity.
• Utilizes analytic tools with staffing standards; tracks allocations daily.
• Conducts rounds to promote hospital operations and bed utilization.
• Coordinates allocation of material resources.
• Acts as DH spokesperson for information requests to police, press, and others.
• Receives patient/family complaints and provides resolution.
• Communicates problems that may impact patient care to department leadership.
• Directs bed activities and assignments across the organization.
• Provides onsite management in crisis situations to prevent disruption of services.
• Participates in threat evaluation and Incident Command System.
• Leads 24/7 daily management of system changes to maximize patient flow.
• Performs other duties as required.
