Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to supervise daily nursing and ancillary services on the assigned unit. The role supports department operations, ensures safe patient care, and mentors staff. Night shift coverage and leadership responsibilities are included through the role.

The position requires 3 years of charge/leadership experience, RN licensure, and BLS, with BSN preferred or to be earned within 3 years of hire. Night shift schedule is 11p–7a

Qualifications

• Diploma program or an Associate or BSN nursing degree is required (BSN preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of charge/leadership experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assumes NM responsibilities.
• Develops and maintains staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
• Directs and delegates patient care assignments based on patient needs and staff availability.
• Ensures staff competency and regulatory compliance; serves in charge capacity when needed.
• Participates in performance appraisals and staff development; supports unit operations and problem resolution.
• Maintains safety, quality and patient satisfaction by adhering to policies and procedures.
