Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Postpartum Unit. You will support the nurse manager with clinical supervision, unit coordination, and staff development during a 7:00 p.m.–5:30 a.m.

shift with weekend on-call and annual holiday on-call requirements. The ideal candidate will have a BSN, Ohio RN license, BLS and ACLS, NRP within six months, and at least two years of OB-level nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• RN license in Ohio.
• BLS through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification through AHA or Red Cross on hire or within 1 year.
• NRP completion within six months of hire.
• Two years of recent clinical nurse experience in mother/baby or OB.
• Strong clinical knowledge and communication/organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire and train staff; provide input into evaluations and feedback.
• Provide direction and supervise unit staff; manage admissions and care plans.
• Evaluate and document patient progress; develop and evaluate nursing programs and initiatives.
• Prepare schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and committees.
• Assist with policies and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of health services.
