Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift role (7:00pm-7:30am) with rotating weekends/holidays, and a 1.0 FTE commitment. The position involves leadership responsibilities, staffing coordination, and ensuring quality patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Minimum requirements include a BSN, 5 years RN experience with leadership, and various certifications (ACLS/BLS/PALS, NIH Stroke Scale).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN required, Masters preferred. TNCC required within six months of hire if working at RMC campus only.
• Five years Registered Nurse experience including two years of leadership roles (Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Coordinator, Supervisor, Team Lead or Charge Nurse).
• AHA ACLS-Adv Cardiac Life Support, AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, AHA PALS or must obtain within 6 months of hire date; NJ RN license.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (or must obtain by end of orientation) and 8 hours of Stroke-related CNE annually.
• Knowledge and Skills: organizational, interpersonal, conflict resolution, verbal/written communication; multi-project management; intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Special Training: Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists staff in identifying clinical and administrative priorities.
• Communicates and disseminates information and direction during tour of duty.
• Coordinates nursing staff and schedules for next shift; consults with managers.
• Makes rounds to assess nursing care and respond to patient concerns.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates activities per CH policies.
• Makes operational decisions ensuring patient confidentiality and adherence to policies.
