Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) generalist to join our team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – Elmbrook in Brookfield, Wisconsin. 3rd shift, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am weekdays with alternating holidays and weekends.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex tests, operate instruments, and report results to support quality patient care. An Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science is required, with CLIA familiarity and

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science, or Medical Technology.
• 3 months of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLT degree.
• Familiarity with CLIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens and maintain a safe work environment
