Job summary

Community Health Systems in Foley, Alabama is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in a 9pm–7:30am shift, ensuring accurate results and compliance with quality controls.

You will troubleshoot instruments, assist in data collection for regulatory standards, and may teach or supervise new staff. Phlebotomy duties may be required as needed, supporting patient care and shift teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, or related field as listed.
• Passing CLT Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0–2 years acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests with timely reporting.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and documents results.
• Performs instrument checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Collects data for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with phlebotomy duties as needed.
