Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist/MLS to join the 60491 IL ACL Laboratories - Condell: Technical team. You will perform, evaluate, and monitor a broad range of laboratory tests, ensuring timely, accurate results and supportive care to critical departments.

The role requires MT/MLS/AMT certification within 1 year, a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (or related), and no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• No experience required.
• ASCP MT/MLS or AMT MT/MLS certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate, and monitor lab tests per established protocols.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and report findings.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments; correct malfunctions.
• Ensure quality control and QA according to standards; document results.
• Collect and prepare specimens from newborn to adult patients.
• Assist in education and training of staff, students and residents.
• Support accreditation and regulatory standards; meet turnaround times.
• Provide rapid laboratory support to ED, ICU and OR during high acuity events.
