Advocate Health in Illinois seeks a Part-time Medical Laboratory Technician for a PRN day shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.). You will perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests per protocol, assist in instrument maintenance, and ensure proper specimen labeling.

Training is provided; no routine weekends required. The role includes quality control, reporting results, and supporting critical care units such as ED, ICU, and OR.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or NAACLS-approved Medical Technology program or equivalent education and training.
• No prior experience required; position is suitable for graduates.

Mansioni

• Performs, evaluates and monitors laboratory tests per established protocols and adjusts workflow to meet timeframes.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments; recognizes malfunctions and corrects as needed.
• Documents quality control and quality assurance activities and takes corrective action when indicated.
• Ascertains proper labeling and suitability of specimens; collects samples from patients per protocol.
• Provides direction and training to medical laboratory staff and students; supports education efforts.
• Improves laboratory procedures and ensures compliance with accrediting standards.
• Performs proficiency testing and supports transfusion services, micro, chemistry and hematology testing.
• Delivers timely, accurate results for critical care units such as ED, ICU and OR.
