Job summary

Endeavor Health invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at Evanston Hospital. The position is full time with night shift hours Monday–Friday, 11pm–7:30am, with occasional weekends and rotating holidays.

The MLS will perform clinical testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Certifications and degree requirements apply, with opportunities for professional development and career growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry required.
MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
Experience: Any (appropriate laboratory experience preferred).

Responsibilities

Perform clinical lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
Conduct special Coagulation, Immunology, Bone Marrow and Flow Cytometry testing as needed.
Review test results for accuracy and communicate critical results to clinicians.
Document QC procedures, instrument maintenance, and corrective actions.
Maintain safety, PPE usage, and biohazard handling per hospital policies.
Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students.
