Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform routine and specialized tests across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation. You will review results, ensure quality control, and communicate critical findings promptly to clinicians.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry and MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification, with flexibility for night shifts and on-call expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry is required.
• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification is required.
• Experience: Any is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation.
• Reviews patient test results for accuracy and notifies appropriate personnel of critical results.
• Performs quality control per established protocols and documents actions.
• Maintains instrument checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting per department protocols.
• May assist in orientation and training of new employees and students.
