Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM with rotating weekends/holidays, located at Northwest Community Hospital in a Magnet-recognized system.

The MLS will perform routine and specialty tests, calibrate instruments, and ensure QA/QC with timely reporting. Requires MLS/ MT (ASCP) certification and 1+ year of moderate/high complexity lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology (accredited).
• Current MLS/MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of high/moderate complexity lab experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document routine and special lab tests; record results and notify when needed.
• Evaluate results for significance and report appropriately.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments; detect malfunctions.
• Perform QA/QC and proficiency testing; take corrective actions.
• Handle specialty testing in chemistry, hematology, and coagulation.
• Support accreditation goals by meeting turnaround time targets.
