Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist Group Lead for a rotating night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. You will supervise and serve as technical resource, perform and review high-complexity tests, and ensure QC and SOP compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of clinical Medical Technologist experience in the designated discipline.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide credential evaluation by IERF; US-educated candidates must provide original transcript.
• Experience as a Medical Technologist at Quest is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all duties of a Medical Technologist I and II.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs ensuring QC requirements are met.
• Actively support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Adhere to analytical schedules to maintain turnaround time of results including STATS or critical results to clients.
• Perform, review and document QC analysis to ensure accuracy of clinical data and proper instrument function; make QC decisions.
• Review requests for validity checks and recommend appropriate course of action.
• Serve as a technical resource for the department by investigating/testing problems and advising on actions.
• Assist Lab Supervisor by monitoring workflow, training staff, and supporting performance appraisals.
