Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a wide range of tests on patient samples and to support accurate diagnoses. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, conduct analyses in multiple areas, and ensure quality control across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical steps.

The role requires a Bachelor's in MLS/CLS or related field, ASCP certification if applicable, and at least 1 year of specimen collection or testing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• 1 year experience performing specimen collection or testing.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS/CLS program may be eligible.

Responsibilities

• Process and handle blood and other specimens per established procedures.
• Perform a variety of tests in hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry and urinalysis.
• Maintain QC on analytical systems and troubleshoot out-of-control results.
• Educate and train new staff and students as directed by lab leadership.
• Prepare lectures and study material for clinical interns as needed.
