Job summary

Stormont Vail Health offers a student internship in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS/CLS) for students in accredited programs. Interns participate in bench rotations, support laboratory operations, and work under supervision, with emphasis on confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in NAACLS accredited MLS/CLS bachelor’s program with eligibility for clinical rotations.
• Completed at least junior-level coursework (≈90 credit hours) in related field.
• Coursework or experience in laboratory or specimen collection or testing.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory operations through administrative, analytical, and project-based activities.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in team meetings and laboratory activities.
• Process and handle blood and other biological specimens according to procedures.
• Assist with testing in assigned departments and prepare/review reagents and controls.
• Monitor add-on work queue and retrieve specimens for testing.
