Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial is seeking an experienced Machine Operator I for our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining area in Virginia. The role involves measuring, threading, adjusting flange fit and facing flanges on ductile or steel pipe, using lathes and threaders, and moving pipe with a crane between machining centers.

The candidate should be proficient with quality checks, read tape measures and micrometers, and work 3:00PM–12:00AM with a starting wage of $20.81/hr and a 24-month wage

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Previous experience with machinery is desired.

Responsibilities

• Measure, thread, adjust flange fit, and face flange on pipe.
• Operate manual machine tools such as lathes and threaders.
• Move pipe using cranes and machines and verify thread depth and taper.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the work area and wear PPE.
• Read a tape measure and micrometer to ensure proper tolerances.
