Job summary

McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI) is hiring a Machine Operator I for the 2nd shift to support our ductile and steel pipe machining operations. The role requires measuring, threading and facing pipes, setting up lathes, and using cranes to move material. Starting wage is $20.81 per hour with a 24-month wage progression.

You will work 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, ensure safety, quality, and production targets while continuously learning the shop’s processes and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Previous machinery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure, thread, adjust flange fit and facing on ductile or steel pipe.
• Operate manual machine tools such as lathes and threaders; move pipe with crane.
• Machine tapered threads; verify thread depth and taper with measurements.
• Test flange to ensure proper screwing onto pipe; apply glue and secure flange.
• Operate machines for 3" to 6" diameter pipe, lengths 4 inches to 18 feet.
