Job summary

Emerus is seeking a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) for a night shift at a 16-bed small-format hospital in Texas. The LVN works under the RN and assists with the plan of care for patients with predictable health care needs.

The role requires a valid LVN/LPN license, current BLS and ACLS, and English fluency. Two years of acute-care LVN/LPN experience is preferred; Pedagogy IV certification within 30 days of hire; state-specific clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED and graduation from an approved LVN/LPN program.
• Experience: Two years of LVN/LPN experience in an acute care setting.
• Licenses/Certifications: active LVN/LPN license in the practice state; BLS & ACLS from the American Heart Association; Pedagogy IV course completed within 30 days of hire.
• English: fluency in English, written and oral communication.
• Clearance: Act 33 and Act 73 clearances completed within the last 5 years or obtained before start date (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, compassionate nursing care to patients under RN supervision.
• Performs duties to support care plans and patient outcomes.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Conducts focused patient assessments in line with policies.
• Administers medications according to organization policies.
• Communicates with patients, families, and care team to coordinate care.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and infection control practices.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
