Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Corrections is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for a week-night shift in Sioux Falls (Jameson Prison Annex). This 36-hour-a-week role includes performing skilled nursing care, administering medications, and documenting offender health records in a secure clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Ability to provide skilled nursing care and education to offenders in clinic settings.
• Strong communication, confidentiality, and ability to work across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care and administer medications for incarcerated offenders.
• Document medical records accurately and timely.
• Transcribe reports at shift changes and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist physicians with procedures and coordinate referrals to Clinical Services.
• Maintain safety and security in the clinical environment and manage supplies.
