Job summary

The Department of Corrections in Sioux Falls (Jameson Prison Annex) seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the week-night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.). Position is 36 hours per week with potential overtime and a $5,000 signing incentive.

Salary ranges from $25.73 to $34.03 per hour, plus night and weekend differentials. Full state benefits and SDRS retirement are provided. Responsibilities include patient care, medication administration, charting, and collaboration with clinical staff to support

Qualifications

• Current, valid LPN license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Ability to treat patients daily in varied settings.
• Ability to follow confidentiality and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in clinic settings for incarcerated offenders.
• Administer medications and assist in treatment plans.
• Transcribe reports and maintain offender medical records.
• Observe patient conditions and respond to emergencies.
• Assist physicians and nurses with procedures.
• Ensure medication supply and restock as needed.
• Work the weeknight shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols in the clinical environment.
