Job summary

The State of South Dakota Department of Corrections – Correctional Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) at the Sioux Falls Jameson Prison Annex.

The role provides skilled nursing care to incarcerated offenders across clinic settings and includes a 36-hour work week with holiday coverage. Compensation includes base pay, a $5/hour differential, and an additional 15% compensation.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license from the SD Board of Nursing or eNLC.
• Night shift experience preferred in correctional/clinical settings.
• Ability to work 36 hours per week and holidays as needed.
• Good documentation and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for incarcerated offenders in clinic settings.
• Document medical records accurately and timely.
• Administer medications and manage treatments.
• Maintain confidentiality and infection control standards.
• Assist physicians and other clinicians; participate in triages and care planning.
• Ensure restocking of medications and supplies.
• Attend training and fit for confinement safety requirements.
