Job summary

Protolabs in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team across shifts, ensuring on-time production, safety, and quality. You will coach Employees and Team Leaders, set priorities, and coordinate tasks to meet the production schedule.

You will apply Lean principles, drive continuous improvement, monitor materials, support capacity planning, and promote empowerment and teamwork. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of manufacturing leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing and/or operations management experience.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing (Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving, A3, DMAIC).
• Experience leading in a culture that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Assures production output supports the production schedule and meets all applicable quality requirements.
• Promote an environment of employee empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement through lean principles, compliance, quality, personal growth and development.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement using problem solving methods to continuously improve quality, safety and efficiency of workplace.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to assigned teams and other Supervisors.
• Lead Tier Meetings to facilitate communication and problem solving between support team members.
• Participate in capacity planning by scheduling production areas, ensuring adequate staffing, verifying adequate material supply and adjusting Kanban levels.
• Monitors manufacturing area supplies and equipment and initiates purchasing requests as needed.
