Job summary

Fairview is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician for the Acute Care Laboratory at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. The role is part-time (32 hours per 2-week pay period) with Friday and Saturday night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Training is five weeks, full-time during the day, starting with remote orientation followed by on-site sessions and early morning on-site shifts for the remainder of training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program or equivalent.
• Completion of three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience or enrollment in final year of MLT/MLS program.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens following established guidelines.
• Enter orders and collection information into the LIS/HIS; monitor logs.
• Schedule tests and communicate results by LIS/HIS and phone.
• Maintain safe work environment and accuracy in processing.
