Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician to support specimen collection and testing at the New Brighton clinic. Primary hours are 7:00am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend coverage at Urgent Care locations.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or higher is required and a phlebotomy program completion is preferred.
• Formal phlebotomy training or related clinical experience is expected.
• Enrollment in an MLT/MLS program with phlebotomy coursework is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain biological specimens following SOPs and guidelines.
• Collect specimens with proper technique and ensure proper labeling.
• Perform phlebotomy at multiple sites and note special handling needs.
• Demonstrate proficiency with point-of-care or waived testing.
• Input orders into LIS/LIS subsystems and communicate results securely.
• Support safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
