Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist for the Acute Care Laboratory at St. John's Hospital.

This full-time night shift (7/70), 10:00 pm to 8:30 am, supports high‑volume diagnostics and patient care with state‑of‑the‑art equipment. The MLS will perform complex testing, analyze results, ensure quality, and collaborate with clinicians and laboratory staff to maintain fast turnaround times and accuracy in a best‑in‑class hospital

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or higher degree in a related laboratory field meeting high complexity testing requirements per CLIA ’88.
• Master’s degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, cytology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, or medical laboratory science.

Responsibilities

• Follows guidelines to obtain specimens and prioritize work.
• Performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing according to CLIA ’88.
• Operates laboratory instrumentation and information systems per procedure.
• Maintains quality assurance, performance improvement, and compliance programs.
• Communicates abnormal/critical results to care providers and documents actions.

Education
