Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician for the Acute Care Laboratory at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This part-time role (32 hours per 2 weeks) covers Friday and Saturday nights, 11pm–7:30am, with five weeks of daytime training prior to start.

The LCT will perform specimen collection, ensure safe handling, enter order data into LIS/HIS, and support the lab's quality and efficiency goals in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Formal phlebotomy education completion required or equivalent.
• Three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience.
• Enrollment in final year of MLT or MLS program.
• Successful customer service background in a diverse setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and ensure safe handling and processing.
• Enter orders and collection information into LIS/HIS; monitor logs.
• Support scheduling and communicate results by phone where needed.
