Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance & Utility Operator to support plant manufacturing. This hybrid role blends hands-on maintenance with utility system operation, emphasizing safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot equipment, manage boilers, chillers, HVAC, and related process systems while maintaining CMMS records and participating in on-call rotations. A minimum of 3 years in industrial maintenance is preferred, with a strong mechanical

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical cert/assoc degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years in industrial maintenance or utility operations, preferably in chemical/industrial manufacturing.
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with continuous process operations.
Familiarity with boilers, chillers, HVAC, dust collectors, scrubbers, etc.
Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
Comfortable outdoors and around hazardous materials; knowledge of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and rotating machinery.
Plan, select, and lay out materials for maintenance work.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and lines.
Maintain CMMS records and follow safety/environmental protocols.
Provide direction and training to less experienced staff.
Monitor and operate plant utilities, log readings, and respond to alarms.
Assist with startup/shutdown and emergency procedures for utilities.
