Job summary

Johnson Controls in Glendale, KY is seeking an Industrial Maintenance & Utility Operator for a hybrid role focusing on mechanical maintenance and utility system operation. You will troubleshoot equipment, monitor boilers and HVAC, and ensure safety compliance while supporting plant production.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial maintenance, reads P&IDs, and can train junior staff. On-site schedule is Tue-Fri 6am-4pm, with potential for shift variations and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in industrial maintenance or utility operations in a chemical/industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with continuous process operations.
• Familiarity with boilers, chillers, HVAC, dust collectors, scrubbers, etc.
• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals; safety training completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and rotating equipment.
• Plan materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and process lines.
• Maintain CMMS records and follow safety/environmental protocols.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M specialists.
• Monitor and operate plant utility systems including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and scrubbers.
