Job summary

Amwins in Charlotte, NC seeks a Cloud Engineer to manage day-to-day operations of virtualized and containerized workloads across AWS, Azure, and VMware. The role requires strong incident response, automation, and cross-team collaboration to ensure stable, secure hybrid cloud and on-premises systems.

You will monitor, patch, and optimize environments, while documenting runbooks and supporting network services. Excellent communication is essential for reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating Microsoft Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, VNets, App Services, Key Vaults, Entra ID, and managed identities.
• Strong experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and DevOps tooling (scripting, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in DNS/DHCP and Windows/Linux OS troubleshooting within hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain virtualized and containerized workloads across Azure, AWS, and VMware.
• Perform patching, configuration, and lifecycle management of servers and cloud resources.
• Serve as escalation point for incidents; perform root-cause analysis and drive issues to closure.
• Administer core network services (DNS, DHCP) and troubleshoot connectivity.
• Provide OS-level troubleshooting for Windows Server and Linux hosts.
• Manage AWS/Azure infrastructure components across compute, networking, identity, and security.
• Automate operational tasks via scripting and IaC where appropriate.
• Document procedures and contribute to runbooks and knowledge bases.
