Job summary

TEGNA IT is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize hybrid cloud infrastructure across Nutanix/VMware, AWS, and Azure to support enterprise applications and business operations.

This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and cost-efficient hybrid solutions, while guiding modernization initiatives and mentoring teams in adopting best practices for hybrid infrastructure maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise infrastructure, with Nutanix/VMware as a core requirement.
• Hands-on experience with cloud migration, modernization, or hybrid cloud transformation projects.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (PowerShell, Python); Terraform/CloudFormation preferred; CI/CD familiarity a plus.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities for hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize hybrid infrastructure across Nutanix/VMware, AWS, and Azure; ensure scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide guidance, create documentation, and influence enterprise infrastructure strategy.
• Develop and enforce infrastructure standards and governance across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Lead IaC initiatives using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to streamline deployments.
• Provide Tier 3 support and drive long-term remediation for hybrid/cloud issues.
• Oversee patching, monitoring, capacity planning, DR, and cost optimization across platforms.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices for hybrid cloud adoption.
