Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico seeks an Administrative Nursing Supervisor to provide hospital-wide clinical and operational leadership during 12-hour night shifts. This role acts as the administrator on shift, guiding patient flow, staffing decisions, and escalation of codes while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• NM licensed RN or multistate compact license.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant acute care or leadership nursing experience.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a clinical resource agent to nursing units and allied health departments for problem solving, within a given shift.
• Coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow activities to expedite movement within the hospital and to non-PHS facilities.
• Evaluates patients with the care team to determine level of care and placement.
• Oversees staffing resources in coordination with department leadership and facilitates staffing decisions.
• Maintains a visible, collegial leadership presence throughout the facility and shift.
• Responds to codes and events; serves as a leadership resource for policies, procedures, risk issues, and regulatory standards.
• Resolves concerns from team members, patients, families, and providers with appropriate follow-up.
• Provides coaching, education, and mentoring to team members.
• Assists with death-related arrangements and referrals to medical investigators when needed.
• Facilitates patient matters related to ADA, language, and cultural issues within the facility.
• Manages human resources tasks including interviewing, onboarding, and performance coaching.
• Offers crisis management support and coordinates follow-up with AOC and department leaders.
• Initiates Hospital Incident Command (HICS) and serves as Incident Commander during events until administrators arrive.
• Maintains punctual attendance and compliance with PH Services policies and standards.
