Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care during 12-hour night shifts. You will oversee delivery of care, delegate to home health staff, and coordinate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited program
• NM nursing license or compact state license
• Certification from AHA/ASHI/Red Cross
• BLS certification for RN roles
• ACLS required in listed departments
• NRP for Family Birthing Center, L&D, NICU, Mother/Baby
• PALS for Children Services, Cardiovascular Lab, ED, GI Lab, IR, Surgical Services

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of patient care and delegate assignments to home health aides and nursing staff
• Maintain clinical competency in direct patient care and adjust nursing processes to ensure quality
• Coordinate patient care with patient, family, other disciplines, and physicians
• Support patients and families with knowledge and philosophy of care
• Explain rights, responsibilities, informed consent during admission
• Assess patient and family teaching needs and utilize teaching aids in home setting
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing research, standards, guidelines, and hospital policies
• Maintain proficiency with equipment used in practice
• Communicate with nursing team and other disciplines; participate in problem solving
• Perform on-call duties and triage patients by phone and in person
• Direct educational needs for ICD9 codes and diagnoses relevant to diabetes, wounds, arthritis, newborns, etc.
• Supervise home health aides in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid rules
• Perform other functions as required

Education

Degree from accredited nursing program

State of New Mexico Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License

Certification from AHA or ASHI or Red Cross

BLS for RN roles

ACLS for specified departments

NRP for Family Birthing Center etc.

PALS for Children Services etc.
