Tufts Medicine’s Melrose/Wakefield Hospital is seeking a maintenance worker to perform general maintenance, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks across hospital facilities. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of building maintenance experience.
• On the job training in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical repairs (switches, ballasts, motors, controls).
• Performs plumbing tasks (drains, fixtures, rodding, cleaning).
• Performs minor carpentry (doors, shelving, locks).
• Repairs plaster, brickwork or concrete; soldering/welding as needed.
• Service and preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems.
• Repair/adjust hospital electrical beds and equipment per specs.
• Inspect and maintain lighting; replace bulbs and fixtures as needed.
• Check hospital systems for proper function (power, AHU, steam, hot water).
• Remove/replace defective equipment; procure parts/materials.
• Inspect safety equipment; manage hazardous materials safely.
• Maintain workshop; keep area organized; support snow removal.
